John McCain channeling Sarah Palin?

Did you catch John McCain dropping his "g" at 9:20 ET -- "Americans are hurtin'"?  That, his repeated use of the word "angry," and his "Joe the Plumber" (aka Joe Six-Pack?) reference, signal to me that he is channeling Palin's fake populism.

it stuck out like a sore thumb.  I am an American and i like my g's.  (although i don't like capitalizing my i's)I am not joe six pack, although i enjoy a six pack now and then.  I am not joe plumber, even though i work in a service job.  Do i want Joe six pack running our government, Hell no! I don't want my neighbors running government.  I want someone who is smarter than the average joe.  You can call me a Plato supporter, but i want the smartest of the smart to lead, not someone that can gather together the smartest of the smart to get together in a committee.
